A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology indicates two things - dogged tenacity and an analytic attention to the details that can be so important in a transaction.


A master's degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina provides knowledge of accounting, business, and interpersonal skills, all of which are useful in real estate.


An honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps speaks for itself. To a Marine, honor holds high value in all dealings and in all of life.

Chas has been licensed to practice real estate in South Carolina since 2001 and now holds a broker’s license. Having grown up in Orangeburg, South Carolina, he was glad when he was able to move to this area in 1997. As an owner of a Manufacturer’s Representative firm in Charlotte, he had traveled throughout the Carolinas, and knew the South Strand was where he wanted to be. Chas came to The Litchfield Company after being in sales of new homes in an age-restricted community for a major national builder; so he has a good understanding of what is involved in home construction. He also holds the e-PRO certification from the National Association of Realtors.

Chas and his wife Barbara live in The Reserve and belong to the Reserve Golf Club and the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club. He enjoys running on the beach, snow skiing, opera, and theater (as a patron, not a participant!). He served two years on the board of Charlotte Repertory Theater, served as President of the Camden, SC Jaycees and Treasurer of the South Carolina Jaycees while working with DuPont, and served two terms as Director of the Textile Division of the Instrument Society of America while with Burlington Industries.
